With Valentines Day around the corner have you decided what you are doing for the romantic day? Some will be planning to pop the big question, others jetting off for a romantic break, and people splurging out on a number of expensive and Valentines gifts. In the spirit of the lovey dovey holiday, we take a look at some of the most romantic destinations to spend time with the one you love:

Paris, France

Of course a romantic destination line up would not be complete without mentioning Paris. The capital of France is known around the world as a very romantic city and it makes the perfect weekend getaway when travelling from the UK, with the flight only taking around about the one hour mark. It is not hard to see why it is popular with lovers, the cute cafes, cobbled streets, pretty flowers dotted about and the sparkling Eiffel tower are to name a few of the gorgeous sites.

Rome, Italy

This beautiful city has a great deal of relevance to the 14th February as it was said that Valentine was a bishop in Rome and is said to be behind the tradition. This city is filled with stunning architecture and impressive fountains that will be perfect to walk around with your other half. There are also a number of stunning squares to wander round including Piazza Navona where you can enjoy a dinner date for two in one of the many restaurants.

New York, USA

If you want to jet off further afield, you would certainly have an unforgettable trip heading to the big apple. Take in the stunning Manhattan skyline and take a romantic stroll through Central Park; you could even get a ride on one of the horse drawn carriages. You could also go all out and have a date skate at the famous Rockefeller ice rink and get VIP treatment. There are so many things to see and do in NYC, it might just turn into a yearly trip!

Vienna, Austria

Back to Europe, Vienna is a stunning place to choose to take your Valentine. With the chilly weather you could spend time warming up with a hot chocolate in one of the gorgeous cafes and take a stroll together through the beautiful Schönbrunn Palace gardens to take in the views and pretty flowers. If you are looking for a sophisticated evening, this is the perfect place for you to spend so you can go to a ball and dance the night away or see a classical concert.
